25 Downtown Vicksburg's 19th Annual Halloween Parade & Costume Contest – Costume Contest begins at 9 a.m. in the Mississippi River Commission parking lot at the corner of Veto and Walnut Street. Trophy awarded in each age category. Halloween parade begins at 10 a.m. for children 12 and under with an adult. Line-up for parade will be on Veto Street between Walnut and Washington to prepare for the parade up Washington Street. After the parade the kids “trick-or-treat” with the downtown merchants. The "Pride" of Vicksburg High Band is hosting the Annual Red Carpet Invitational Band Contest at the Warren Central High Viking Stadium.  This all day event will feature the half time performances of approximately 14 Mississippi High School bands as well as several exhibition bands from area colleges.  The bands will be judged and awarded trophies based on performance.  Concessions will be open and admission is $5.00.  Everyone is invited to attend and support our Mississippi bands.  For more information, please contact Charlotte Freeman, Vicksburg Band Booster, at 601-529-3385.
